A concert experience that brought together the blossoming gardens of two Dominican convents with vocal music for female voices. Together with a medicinal herb expert from each convent, the Otto vocal ensemble invited the audience to immerse themselves in the world of plants and medicinal herbs with a musical tour.
The Otto vocal ensemble was founded in 2023 and specialises in musical tours. For each project, two of the eight singers take on the conception and musical direction. Otto cultivates a broad repertoire and has high standards when it comes to meeting the tonal requirements of a wide variety of compositions and spaces.

We created an urban version of the same concept in Room 236 in Zurich. While the vocal ensemble sang Arthur Furer's ‘heiteres Herbarium’ (cheerful herbarium), food designer Laura Haensler took the herbs sung about and incorporated them into original food creations. Chamomile cream cheese, herb bouquets and deadnettle madeleines were available to taste between the musical movements.
